Due to a shortage of potato protein, we have added pea protein to our L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Sweet Potato & Bison and Sweet Potato & Venison Formulas. Peas, as a part of the legume family, are a unique, high quality protein not commonly found in pet foods; making it an ideal ingredient for dog's with food sensitivities. We have been feeding the new formulas to our own Natural Balance® pets and it has continued to produce the same exceptional results as the current formulas.

The Adult Adult dogs should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Sweet Potato & Bison Formula, we suggest to start with the amounts recommended in the Table. Energy requirements vary with environmental conditions, temperature and activity of your dog. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your dog’s needs.

Pregnant Females (See Our Feeding Page for More Details!)
Minimal increase needed during first 6 weeks. 
Weeks 7, 8, & 9 increase up to 25%.

Lactating Females (See Our Feeding Page for More Details!)
Immediately after whelping, the nutritional demand increases by 50% compared to maintenance levels. Feed in 3 equal meals per day.

Working Dogs Based on the work your dog will be asked to perform, the nutritional requirements will vary accordingly. As the work load increases, the demand for protein and fat increases proportionally. Dogs in hard training will generally require twice the maintenance levels.

The Older Dog As your dog begins to age, his energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for less active dog.

We recommend that you do not add vitamins, minerals or any other supplements, except upon the advice of a veterinarian. When switching your dog's diet, the change should be made gradually, by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Natural Balance® Sweet Potato & Bison Formula dog food. The change should be completed after 5 to 7 days. The maintenance of proper body weight is most important for your dog's health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations for your dog. Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!
