I have just subscribed to Club NB, and thought I would take the opportunity to write you about my experience with one of your products. When we first adopted our then ten-month-old Papillon, Ziggy, two years ago, I did extensive research on dog food. I had only had a large dog before, and was concerned about the delicate balance of calories and nutrition for such a small dog. I compared the nutritional content, as well as the corporate philosophy, of several high-end brands, and decided to feed Ziggy Natural Balance Original Ultra Premium Dry Dog Food. I was delighted to find that it could be purchased at my local Petco store, as well as at our neighborhood dog obedience school. Not long after we adopted Ziggy, the country endured a widespread petfood scare, as more and more pet foods were found to contain dangerous levels of melamine. I was heartened by the Natural Balance company's ready and full disclosure of ingredients on its website, and by how quickly the company made any changes necessary to ensure the safety of its products. I remained a customer of Natural Balance throughout Ziggy loves this food. I wish I could send you a video of him happily doing his "dog food karate" in the morning -- a combination of chasing, pawing, picking up and tossing, and then happily crunching up each piece of kibble. I just wanted to send in a note and say how happy I am. We have a 6 month old Basset Hound, and I was at Petco and saw the Natural Balance Ultra Premium Dry Dog Food. After some free samples, I bought some. Wow! My Basset has ver soft, shiny fur - he practically glows in the sun. He has a finicky stomach too, and he has had loose stools most of his life, but since the switch, we have not had a problem. Thank you so much for this wonderful product, it's made a huge difference in my dog. I highly recommend this product, and on seeing the changes in my Woof, our vet has become a believe, too! I recently acquired a new Aussie puppy, he was being fed California Natural dog food AMs and people food in the PMs. Upon doing tons of research I put Bailey on Natural Balance Ultra Premium Dry Dog Food, he is doing great, everyone comments on his super soft coat. I wanted to share my story about Sasha a German shepherd mix that we adopted. She had been found on the streets, and her coat was dry and dull and she lacked energy. While looking for a good dog food to feed her, an employee at Petco suggested the Natural Balance Ultra Premium Dry Dog Food, and after about two weeks we noticed a dramatic difference in her coat, and she was running and playing like a puppy. Her coat is now shiny and she has stopped itching and digging herself due to dry skin patches. I have been feeding my boys Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Food for two years. They absolutely love this food, and they think the dog food rolls are fabulous treats! Their skin and coats went from dry and dull to shiny and sleek, and they are easily maintained at healthy weights. Both dogs are very active and participate in USDAA events on a regular basis, where they both have achieved their Agility Dog Champion titles.. In 2006, Whiskey received his Bronze Lifetime achievement Award and Furley was ranked in the top ten dogs for the year with USDAA. We are looking forward to the 2007 USDAA Nationals this fall! Kelly (my wife) and I got AJ (Male Bernese Mtn. Dog) when he was 6-mos old (He's now 5). He was diagnosed with severe hip problems when he was a puppy, so the original owners returned him to the breeder. The breeder is very reputable and very well known among the Bernese community, but AJ was just a fairly rare case in that he was born with a severe problem despite a great pedigree with both his parents. My wife and I were on a waiting list with this breeder when AJ was returned, and we fell in love with him from the minute we met. He was now a part of our family. AJ underwent total hip replacement on both hips at age 1, and needless to say, this was a very tough time for him. Sissy's (Female mix breed) story also did not begin too well. She was a 1-year old (estimate) stray that was picked up by our community Animal Control. She had a gashing hole in her chest (the Vet concluded that it looked a lot like a knife wound), and a pellet imbedded into one of her front legs. Kelly and I saw in our local newspaper that the shelter was full, and they were pleading for responsible folks to come by the shelter to adopt a new family member. We wanted to get a play companion for AJ while we were working during the day, so we went down to the shelter and met "Sissy." She was in such bad shape, and I'll never forget the way she was shaking in her little cage. She's now a big part of our family, and AJ loves his little sister. By now you know that Kelly and I will cut no corners that would compromise the health of our dogs, and that definitely includes their diet. We're very thankful to have been referred to the Natural Balance products! I love the fact that I can open a can of dog food, and then be able to identify the contents, ESPECIALLY THE VEGETABLES! Although I mix dry and canned food for their diet, they'll actually eat the Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dry Dog Food by itself. To Sherry - Natural Balance® Demonstrator: Here are the pictures that we promised when we met you at Tam's Pet Food and Supplies in Van Nuys. We adopted Yogi when he was only six weeks old. He was referred to us by a friend of a friend of a family member. Greyhound racing is a highly regulated sport, all trainers/breeders are mandated to breed accordingly, Yogi's mother mysteriously got pregnant by another Greyhound and the breeder was told to put Yogi to sleep since she did not know who the father was. The other option was finding a family for Yogi outside the state of Arizona as long as she did not sell him. This is how we heard about Yogi and my mother opted to adopt Yogi. The puppy pictures of Yogi were taken the same hour of us taking posession of him, he is just the friendliest dog, and a blessing to our home. I got my Jack Russel mix 2 years ago. Her name is Bella. I put her on Science Diet puppy formula because she was 10 weeks old. She scratched continually. I returned to the vet and he didn't know why she was scratching and gave me medicated shampoo. That didn't help and I was getting worried. I switched vets and my new vet said that Bella had hives in her ears and that it might be a food allergy and to switch from a food with corn in it to see if that would help. I found that almost all Science Diet foods use corn as a filler so I switched to a different food. This one had wheat in it and was for sensative skin. Bella still scratched, but not as much. After switching foods again Bella was still occasionally scratching. I finally had a blood test done because I was tired of guessing what she was allergic to. I found out that my puppy was highly allergic to corn and partially allergic to wheat (in addition to other things). I went to my cupboard and found that every food and treat I was feeding her had corn or wheat in it!!! I couldn't find an inexpensive food at the local discount store because all the foods had corn or wheat or both in them. I finally found Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Food at my local Petco. It is amazing!! Bella is much happier and she hardly has to scratch at all. Thanks for making an affordable dog food that my dog likes!! I really appreciate it! Patty Brown

I had to send this email to mention how pleased I am with Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Food. I have two Mini Schnauzers. The White Schnauzer is Meko and Black Schnauzer is Gizmo. We just got Gizmo, it was very obvious he was malnourished and neglected. His coat was very dull and he was very thin, and he's only 5 months. I had been feeding my dogs Wellness and it caused a lot of gas in my dogs and diarrhea. I did some research on dog food and Natural Balance was mentioned and the reviews were very helpful. I have a now 9 year old female sheltie. She had been diagnosed with heart worm, and severe skin infection. The owner wanted to euthanize her, and I jumped in and decided to save her. Once we got her the heart worm treatment that she needed, shaved off her coat, put her on antibiotics for her skin infection, she then developed pneumonia. Finally, she has made it through all her treatments, but will have lasting effects from the heart worms that she had. Then I took her to the veterinarian because I noticed that she was wondering around. She would walk away from me, then start crying because she could not find me. The veterinarian suggested that we put her on a brain diet. I tried that, but she would not eat it. I then thought that I would try the Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Formula. I am so proud to announce that she is not wondering off anymore, and she is actually playing. Her skin is clearing up and her coat is growing back beautifully. It is though she is a healthy 1 or 2 year old instead of a 9 year old with heart issues. I know that your dog food has made what years madre' has left very happy and energetic. Just wanted to say many thanks for your amazing line of dog food. (Well now the cat is only eating Natural Balance as well!) Our dog has always had slight auto-immune problem where the skin of her nose would dry and flake, sometimes leaving open sores. She used to be on other "premium" dog food, but after switching to Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Formula her nose has completely healed and no longer flakes! It's shiny and black, like a dog's should be. Oddly, her very bad breath was cured, too. Natural Balance isn't available in our area (Ithaca, NY) so I have to mail order it until someone decides to carry it out here. Anyway, it's worth it and we'll never use another brand again! I had to e-mail to let you know that our lab loves your dog food! She had stopped eating the store brand food we were buying her- she'd sniff it and walk away which was strange since she has always been a food oriented dog who would eat literally anything! She had become lethargic and was sleeping all the time and I thought it was due to old age, she even seemed depressed! Well, I decided to try Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Formula and she started eating happily again! She now once again guards her food from our other younger dog and she seems happy again. She has regained her strength and I am just so happy. Not to keep on heaping the compliments, however, she had flaky skin and a small area of skin on one of her front legs that had not had fur on it for at least eight years - it was sort of scaly. I always check it, well I could not believe it but when I looked at it today she has fur growing fully on the patch! I know it is the food because we were at the vet about a month ago when we started feeding the food to her and the vet noted that there was no fur! Zeke was adopted thru Pit Bull Rescue Center out of Atlanta, GA, I live in South Carolina. With my first pit, who died of a genetic disorder, I was much concerned with the right dog food and had done hours of research on this. Having fed my dog prior to my pits the other poor brands gave me a dog with many problems and I've learned from this. Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Food was at Pet Lovers and when I read the label I knew this was what I wanted for Zeke. Not only does he love his food but his coat has come out with a shine that just glows. Natural Balance is convenient for me and so good for Zeke. I'm sending a picture of Zeke with my little cousin Cam. Cam's family was visiting from Florida when I brought Zeke home and he just loved those children. I love happy endings and this is truly one. Dixie is a Hurricane Katrina rescue dog. We adopted her in February from the Best Friend's Animal Shelter that was down here in New Orleans helping rescue the animals who also suffered from this terrible storm. When we brought Dixie home, she was very thin and frail. She refused to eat and when I did get her to take some food I would have to sit with her practically in my lap and hand feed her. Now this was not going to be a very realistic lifestyle for her, seeing she is a German Shepherd/ Lab mix. I was very frustrated and so was Dixie. The poor girl was so sad and confused. We spoke at the fair at Hermosa Beach regarding the great results I have had with Natural Balance dog food. I am a Chiropractor and pug owner and have issues with my dog's coat for all of her life. She is what I like to call a shed monster and always has been. I have been feeding everything from Iams to Kirkland and nothing really helped. I changed her diet with suggestions from the Petcare Company to Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Food and within 3 weeks her coat changed from dry to silky smooth and seems to be shedding much less. I was amazed at how quickly changing her diet changed her coat. I am a chiropractor and know how important good food for your skin is.
